Question:

A person wore the two cloths for Ihram and performed two rak’ats, However he did not recite talbiyah or any other dhikr or dua. Is his Ihram Valid?

Answer:

In the name of Allah, Most Compassionate, Most Merciful

There are two conditions for Ihram, intention and dhikr. It is stated in Fatawa Alamghiriyyah:

“A person is not considered muhrim until he has makes intention and performs talbiyyah or any dhikr which stands in place of the talbiyah”
(Fatawa Alamghiriyyah P222 V1)

In this case the salah is a form of dhikr, therefore the Ihram is valid.

Attested by Mufti Sufi Tahir sahib, Darul uloom Bury and Shaikh Abdul Rahim
