Q503: What should a ma’zoor do in Ihram

Question: I have piles and dirty liquid leaks out when I do tawaaf , saee, walk or sit. The liquid leaks out and my ihram would get dirty what should I do? Do I need to give a dam (sacrificial animal)?

Answer: We suggest you use adult nappies, as this will protect your clothes from getting dirty.

Adult nappies are also called adult diapers and incontinence briefs.

Whether you have to give damm or not depends on how long you have been wearing the incontinence briefs.

If you wear them for more than a half-day (12-hours), from the moment you made intention for starting your ihram, then you will have to give damm, in this case, a sheep.

Otherwise (ie if it is less than 12 hours), then you give sadaqah instead (A few riyals to someone in Makkah).
